A Very humble beginning...
The year 1960 saw the founding of what would be later on the Alapatt Group. It was in this year that P.T. Antony, with his astound foresight, started PT & Sons, a company engaged in the distribution of consumer products. During that period, he was one of the directors of South Indian bank...a post still held by his successors. A devout catholic with purity in heart, he, as the founder had set out the seven core values of the company which still are strictly followed by the Alapatt Group. PT & Sons soon established an extensive network and its success prompted the setting up of the first professionally run jewellery outlet in the state of Kerala in Kochi, in 1962. Soon after, another outlet was born.
He was a people's person in all sense. His personal rapport with everyone who came in touch with him had a great effect in his personal life and also in his success as a businessman.
The reason behind the success and growth of the company was his way of approach to his staff and customers. His genuineness and closeness towards his workers is one quality that has been followed by all his successors over the years.
